Why $Dearborn?
Dearborn has been all over national news in recent months. Immigration enforcement, application of Middle East policy, and tensions surrounding Israel and Palestine have brought national political debates directly into the city. The city’s large Arab-American and Muslim communities have become an increasingly influential force in Michigan politics, particularly following Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed’s Senate primary victory. Recently activist Jake Lang and the Arbaeen procession further intensified national attention on Dearborn. Now, plans for a “Christian Crusader” takeover have brought heightened security, and strong political messages to the city. On August 18th the Crusaders are expected to show up and $DEARBORN gives the degen an opportunity to trade the HYPE.
